Whiteboards & Display Boards — Expert Answer

What are liquid chalk markers and when should I use them?

Liquid chalk markers are felt-tip markers filled with water-based, chalk-colored ink rather than standard dry-erase ink. They write with a chalk-like appearance (typically on darker surfaces) but erase cleanly from glass, chalkboards, and treated surfaces with a damp cloth. They're popular for: restaurant menu boards (glass, slate, or chalkboard), event signage, glass windows and doors, and any surface where you want a chalk aesthetic without the dust and mess of real chalk. They don't erase with a dry eraser — you need a damp cloth or paper towel. On porous surfaces (low-quality painted boards, untreated wood), they may not erase cleanly. For office dry-erase whiteboards, use standard dry-erase markers — liquid chalk is not the right choice for these surfaces. FindOfficeFurniture.com — call 888-719-4960.
