Cubicles > Width - 65 in

Cubicles come in 6 by 6, 6 by 8, 8 by 8, and 6 by 12 foot footprints, plus call-center sizes as small as 4 by 4. The 6 by 6 is the standard worker cubicle, the 6 by 8 buys you a bit more elbow room, and the 8 by 8 fits a manager or a shared-use station. Pick your size based on the task at hand and the square footage you actually have to work with, not the size that looks most impressive on paper. Match the footprint to the job and you will avoid a costly reconfiguration down the line.

Wall heights run 42 inches for a low partition with an open feel, 53 inches for standard seated privacy, 65 inches for a high wall that fully blocks the view when seated, and 85 inches for full standing privacy. Lower walls foster collaboration between your teams; higher walls protect focus for heads-down work. Most offices grab 53 or 65 inch panels and mix the two as needed across the floor, giving you flexibility between open collaboration zones and quieter individual stations.

A typical cubicle gives you a corner or L-shape worksurface, one or two pedestals for drawers, an overhead bin for binder storage, a tackable panel for posting notes, and a task light. Power and data come in through a base raceway that runs along the floor inside the panel. The product page lists exactly what comes standard on each model, so check there before you assume a feature is included — configurations vary more than you might expect across brands and lines.

Most cubicle systems run a base raceway along the floor inside the panel that carries power and data wiring out to outlets and ports at your worksurface. You will still need an electrician for the building-side connection, but the wiring path inside the cubicle itself comes built into the system. Confirm the raceway capacity matches how many devices you plan to plug in at each station before you finalize your order, since older systems may run tighter than newer ones.

Yes, and the used and refurbished market runs deep because cubicle systems are built to last 20 to 30 years, and big offices replace them whenever corporate identities change. Refurbished cubicles can save you 60 to 80 percent versus buying new. Check the fabric condition and panel hardware closely before you buy, since wear on these components is where refurbished units most often fall short. A little inspection up front saves you a surprise repair bill after the cubicles land in your office.

Cubicle install takes a professional crew with the right tools — panels lock together with proprietary connectors, raceways need careful wiring, and worksurfaces hang from the panel framework itself. Plan a 1-day install for a small cluster of 4 to 6 cubicles, and budget a multi-day project for full office floors. Do not try to install cubicles solo; the connector systems and alignment work are built for a trained crew, and doing it yourself risks a shaky result you will be fixing for months.

Cubicles ship on multiple pallets across dozens of cartons covering panels, worksurfaces, storage, brackets, and hardware. A single 6 by 6 cubicle weighs 400 to 800 pounds across all its components combined once everything arrives. Schedule your freight delivery with a liftgate or an actual loading dock, and have your install crew on hand to receive the shipment directly. Skipping this step often means cartons sitting on a truck with nowhere to go, which slows your whole project down before it even starts.

Generally no — each cubicle manufacturer uses proprietary panel connectors, so panels from Brand A will not connect to panels from Brand B. Pick one system family and stay inside it for your whole floor plan from day one. If you inherit a mixed-brand office from a previous tenant, plan to replace the orphaned pieces rather than try to patch them into an incompatible system. Trying to force a match across brands usually costs you more in the long run than starting clean with one family.

Commercial cubicle systems built to BIFMA testing typically carry a 10 to 15-year industry warranty on the structural panel framework, with worksurfaces, storage, and fabric covered for shorter terms — but you get our Free Lifetime Warranty unless specifically noted on top of that baseline. Read the warranty schedule for each component class so you know exactly what is covered and for how long before you sign off. That clarity matters once you are running cubicles for years across a growing floor plan and headcount.

ADA-accessible cubicles need 30 by 48 inches of clear floor inside the workstation, 27 inches of knee clearance under the worksurface, a 36 inch wide doorway opening, and a 60 by 60 inch turnaround space for a wheelchair to rotate. Mark at least one cubicle in every cluster as ADA-accessible and note it clearly on your floor plan. Getting this right from the start saves you a retrofit later, and it keeps your office compliant as your team grows and changes.
