Tables > Shape - Race Track

Tables is the big umbrella for everything that is not a desk. Conference tables, training tables, folding tables, cafeteria tables, activity tables, occasional and coffee tables, science and lab tables, standing-height conference tables, and whiteboard tables all live here. If you are outfitting a meeting room, browse conference tables for the full lineup. If your room needs to flip between sessions, training tables give you a lighter, reconfigurable option. Walk in knowing your room type and you can land on the right family fast instead of scrolling every option on the floor.

Occasional and coffee tables run 24 to 36 inches across and 16 to 20 inches tall. Conference and training tables stretch 60 to 144 or more inches long at a standard 28 to 30-inch height. Standing-height and lab tables climb to 36 to 42 inches. Grab a tape measure before you buy anything. Figure in seating clearance too: leave 30 to 36 inches of clear space between the table edge and the nearest wall or furniture so chairs pull out and people can move through the room without squeezing past each other.

Commercial tables test to the BIFMA X5.5 standard for repeated daily use under load. Conference tables take hours of elbow weight, laptops, and spilled coffee every single day. Residential tables were never built for that kind of sustained multi-user punishment. If you are putting a table in a meeting room, training room, or break room that sees regular traffic, lock in commercial-rated every time. The frame welds, edge profiles, and worksurface finishes are all built to outlast anything you find at a home furniture store.

Thermally fused laminate (TFL) is the wallet-friendly grab for training and multipurpose rooms, scratch-resistant and available in dozens of finishes. High-pressure laminate (HPL) runs harder and is the smarter buy for cafeterias, lab benches, and high-traffic conference rooms. Wood veneer over an engineered core gives your executive conference room the real-wood look without the real-wood price swings. Edge profiles come square, eased, bullnose, or waterfall, and they affect both the look and the wear: HPL edges hold up better than TFL edges under daily impact.

Most tables need you to attach the legs or base, set the top, and dial in the leveling glides. A Phillips driver and an Allen key handle nearly every table, and the hardware ships included. Large conference tables over 96 inches need two people to position the top safely, so line up a second set of hands ahead of time. Mobile and flip-top training tables need caster installation and a quick test of the flip mechanism before first use. Budget 30 to 60 minutes per table for standard models, and 90 minutes or more for the big conference builds.

Conference tables anchor dedicated meeting rooms with a permanent setup. Training tables belong in multipurpose and flex rooms where the layout changes between sessions. Folding tables cover overflow, events, break rooms, and temporary setups you tear down after. Lab and science tables fit technical, research, and makerspace spots where the worksurface has to handle equipment weight and chemical exposure. Match the table type to how your room actually gets used day to day, and you will not be stuck retrofitting later when the room's purpose shifts on you unexpectedly.

Start with shape and size. Filter by length and width to match your headcount using one seat per 24 to 30 linear inches of table edge as your baseline. From there, weigh top material (TFL versus HPL versus veneer), base style (4-leg, T-leg, X-base, panel, or post), caster options on mobile variants, and power or data grommet choices. If you are outfitting a full meeting room, check whether the table family offers a matching credenza and presentation table, so the whole room reads as one clean set instead of mismatched pieces.

Yes. Leveling glides, caster sets, grommet inserts, and edge banding repair kits are available from most commercial table brands. Leveling glides and casters wear fastest under daily use, so keep those in mind first. Mobile training tables wear hardest at the flip-top pivot hardware since that piece moves every week. Check whether replacement flip-top mechanisms are available for the series you are eyeing before you buy, since that is the part most likely to need attention down the road. The product page lists replacement parts by series.

Commercial tables typically carry a 10 to 15-year warranty against the 1-year window you get on residential tables, but we back yours with a Free Lifetime Warranty unless specifically noted. That covers the top, the frame welds, the leg leveling glides, the casters where you order them, and the grommet hardware. A 10 to 15-year industry-standard warranty already tells you a brand built the table for daily meeting-room punishment. Ours goes further, so you are covered long after that window would have closed anywhere else.

Leave 27 inches of knee clearance under the table top and 30 by 48 inches of clear floor space at one or more positions for a wheelchair user. The table top should land between 28 and 34 inches for accessible reach. If you are running a standing-height table at 42 inches, pair it with an adjacent seated 29-inch surface or grab an adjustable-height variant so wheelchair users are not left out. Fixed-height training tables at 29 to 30 inches are your easiest ADA-friendly pick since they clear knee height and reach range at the same time.
